Walking The Black Dog – 02/11/2009

November 2nd 2009 in Walking The Black Dog

Beginning right here, right now, is a new feature of varying regularity. My plan is to get writing posted elsewhere, in a bid to drive traffic back to this site and thus further my plans for internet domination. In the event that I succeed, I will post a ‘Walking The Black Dog’ containing links to these articles, to make sure no-one here misses a trick. I may even point out the work of others at a later date, who knows? We’re just getting started here.

Should I fail catastrophically, this will not be a regular feature. In fact, for all I know, this will be the last one. (But hopefully not.)

Anyway, for now, here are the places you can find my writings online at present:

Firstly, The Weekly Hat, my weekly quick-written news-and-media digest. Possibly some of the writing is slightly rougher around the edges than the articles here, but I do it for the love. And the jokes. Updated on Sundays, usually some time in the AM.

And that was born from Behatted, the internet’s (hopefully) only  thrice-weekly webcomic about small hats. Not exactly blogging, but a fun exercise nonetheless. Admittedly, you’d probably have to read from the beginning to catch up on the ongoing storyline.

I also post material sporadically on Suite101, although they demand a slightly more serious tone, and the ruthless eradication of the first person. But if you want to read about comics or television in particular, I have some decent pieces there.

Finally, a trial guest post I wrote for Dumb Little Man a while back, entitled ‘5 Things To Do When Twitter Goes Down’. Further to that, my Twitter account is, of course, written by me.

And that’s it. Hopefully the next one of these will be mere minutes away.

What I did when Twitter went down was…well, actually…I went out to a coffee shop and sat down with friends and had drinks, laughs, and fun.

Weird, that.

But as someone who had to be dragged to Twitter, I am now attached to it.

I find many great things to read (yes, yes, including your stuff) and have met many wonderful “people” hehehe.

I’m not here because you asked me to be. Though it would have been nice. ;)

When Twitter went down, I stayed at my desk and checked Facebook. Which, at least, is one of my own suggestions.

And thanks for popping along. All are welcome. The fact you’re here for reasons other than being invited by me is actually a very good thing as far as I’m concerned…

@ Marisa — He never invited me, either. I had to hear about it from Ali Hale.

Your Comment:

You’ve accepted that life is suffering, have a downright evil sense of humour and find that most productivity blogs make you want to seize the nearest axe. But no-one said the inability to trust “nice” people should stop you.
